Epic birthday post 1

lishesquexSo, it's been an eventful week for me. I turned 21 on Thursday and I'm completely serious when I say that it was the BEST BIRTHDAY EVAH. Like srsly.
Wednesday
On Wednesday morning, I was woken up at 7:45 by the rain drumming on my window. The sound registered in my mind, and I thought to myself "Oh fuck it. Now mum's not going to let me drive to the airport alone." Lo and behold, 5 minutes later, mum comes in and says "I've talked with your father and we've decided... you're not driving to the airport alone in this weather." -.- I'd spent all week convincing my parents that I was capable of driving to the airport by myself - I /have/ been driving for 2 years now - to pick
Julia up (I didn't want anyone to be there because it was going to be a Big Emotional Moment and I knew I was going to cry like a baby). But no, mum was paranoid that I would crash the car and die on the eve of my 21st, so it was decided that dad would sit next to me while I drove. The drive was uneventful. I'd made a mix tape the night before so I entertained myself with that on the way there. Lots of Missy Higgins and Europop. :-)
We got to the airport in pretty good time. It was perfect timing, actually, because Julia had just come out of customs. Dad was supposed to stay in the car so as not to ruin the sentimental reunion moment, but he needed to pee, so he followed me out of the car. And GRRRRRRR, he saw Julia first and COMPLETELY RUINED THE MOMENT by yelling loudly "Eh! Lili! She's here!" -.- Or something like that. *sigh* Anyway, we hugged, and I didn't cry (cos my father was there), and we wandered back to the car and drove back home.
In my room, we hugged some more and found that we had forgotten how to hug. The height difference made things a little awkward. We kept stepping on each other and tipping over, heh. She showed me her Mac Daddy (that would be her new Mac) and signed onto WoW to show me her toons. Yani is so sexy. We kept getting disconnected and wondered why until we realised thatLyan was signed into her account. And so I signed into Lyan's account, and Julia signed into my account and we had so much fun tormenting confusing Ingrid. SO MUCH FUN.
After playing with Ingrid's mind, we drove to the Glen and had lunch at KFC. We stuffed ourselves with 2 ultimate burger meals (or whatever they're called) and shared a sweet chili twister. It was kind of strange, eating together like that, because it was just like all those other times we'd had lunch together in the Glen. It was like no time had passed at all, almost. We got a bit competitive with our food (well, I did). I won, because I ate more than her. :-p
We went shopping, then, for the materials to make her Xena costume. I had (quite evilly) decided to make everyone dress up for my birthday party, and insisted on Julia coming as Xena. She was just too perfect for the role, being an almost 6' tall New Zealander with long brown hair and blue eyes. :D So we went to Riot and bought like $40 worth of materials of brown felt and cardboard, and then, because we were running out of time, we rushed to Lincraft and bought 3 m of this blue velvety curtain-like material for Rianna's robe (Rianna was to come as a level 1 mage from WoW). By the time we got home it was already past 4pm, and we had to leave at 5:30 to catch the train. So we very hurriedly made Xena's costume. I did the gauntlets, bracers and shoulder plates while Julia made the skirt. We'd planned on making a breastplate too, but we didn't end up doing it because we totally ran out of time. Mum and Rianna managed to make something out of the giant blue curtain I'd bought... she looked really cute actually. :-D In the end, I had like 5 minutes to get into my clothes. It was okay though because I was going as a lesbian, so I just chucked on my leather pants and my rainbow wristband and we were outta there. Except, after 5 minutes of driving, I realised that I'd forgotten the tickets to Dracula's so we had to drive back and get them. Oops. :-D We ended up missing the train, but I wasn't too stressed. I said, "It's my party and I can be late if I want to!"
The weather was still terrible - something like 14°C and raining - so Julia and I were both freezing on the train. Well, Julia was freezing a little more than I, because she was in little more than a miniskirt and brown singlet top (the rest was all felt and cardboard). I spent the time on the train decorating her brown felt gauntlets with a golden marker. Unfortunately I got some of the gold onto my black leather pants and had to use Rianna's jumper to wipe it clean, so thereafter Rianna froze as well. *such a loving sister*

We took the tram to Victoria St. On the way, a random stranger took a picture of Xena. I was so amused. :-D We finally arrived at Dracula's at 6:45, which was the designated time. Xin was already there because she is more punctual than me. She was dressed in a power suit because she'd come straight from work (she's a lawyer). It was so hawt. Next to show up was Lucia, who had come in a suit, suspenders and a pimp hat. That was pretty cute too. :) More people arrived, and the Dracula's people ushered us inside to take the Dracula's ghost train into the restaurant. Xin yelled at me for not telling her until afterwards that they took video footage of you while inside the ghost train. Heh.
The rest of the night is a bit of a blur for me, actually. There were a lot of jokes at the expense of New Zealanders, much to my delight. We didn't get Dimentia as our waiter this time, which was sad, because I'd been totally looking forward to poking herboob corset again. I heard that she wasn't working there anymore. Oh well. Anyway, the show was awesome. I got entirely too excited when they did Garbage - Temptation Awaits. I tapped Jackie on the shoulder and we had a Buffy moment. Alas, nobody really understood my utter amusement when Jurgen the Pornstar came on. I wished Ingrid had been there because she would have laughed her ass off. :-)
After dinner and the show, they opened the main stage up for dancing. Jackie and Juliana got up to dance first, then Xin was like "Lil, you have to dance!", and I was like "Noooo, I don't dance". AND THEN. Xin started /dragging/ me to the dance floor. Note that this is in a restaurant full of people, lol. Then Steph came and picked up my feet and they CARRIED me all the way to the stage. I flailed a bit and tried to make my body heavy, and randomly grabbed onto tables and railings when I could but TO NO AVAIL. They were too strong. So there I was on the stage... and I thought I'd already looked enough of a dolt being carried to the dance floor that I couldn't possibly embarrass myself any further if I danced. And so I did, and it was fun. "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" by Wham! came on, which was totally the perfect song. And it was really fun dancing next to my friends so I loosened up and just danced. It turned out to be a really amazing experience. Who would have thought? :-)
So yeah, the party turned out really great. I love my friends. :-) There was many hugs and much laughter. Xin drove me crazy (in a good way) with her straight hawtness as usual. So many hugs zomg. I put a spider down her cleavage (don't worry, it was fake) while she was distracted. Down Jackie's too. Good times.

Lucia drove us (Julia, Rianna and I) home, which was really nice of her, seeing as she lives on the other side of the city. We droppedEphie at Glen Iris station, where we randomly met Jackie again. I got more hugs. :D Then we went home. I invited Lucia in and showed her my room. Then we had hawt sex0r orgiez with Julia.
...that last bit was a lie.
They wrapped themselves up in blankets (separate blankets) because it was so cold while I logged on WoW to tell Ingrid that I had Lucia in my room. Heh. Lucia said "happy birthday" to me when the clock hit midnight, thereby crowning herself as First To Say Happy Birthday on the actual day. Then Lucia left, and it was just Julia and me again. We logged onto WoW and queued for Warsong Gulch with Ingrid, because that was the battleground daily, but Julia totally fell asleep during the (rather short) wait. We won the WSG (without the help of Ceily). I think I unwrapped the rest of my presents at some point. I told Ingrid about Juergen the Pornstar. Eventually I went to bed and fell asleep. I think that was around 3am. Some time later after I had fallen asleep, I heard my phone start ringing and I answered it rather groggily. Some strange person said "Happy Birthday!", and I said "huh?" Lol. Eventually, after much confusion, I realised that it was my birthday, and that it was Daria who was calling to wish me a happy birthday. She apologised for waking me up, and I mumbled something in reply, and then we hung up and I splatdied again on my bed.
So that was Wednesday. It was pretty awesome. My friends made it a wonderful day, and I love them for it. :-)
