Still, I hope it doesn't bother you for too long. The whole thing makes me feel not so much Australian either.
On the plus side, it's been pretty good at work - a few colleagues have come over to Aus fairly recently, from Iran in particular, looking for a place to settle in and (apart from one terrible incident where my friend saw his wife punched in the face by a racist bogan) before too long have been comfortable enough to start popping out babies :-/. #2/3 for this summer just arrived. (The wife mentioned above is expecting in February.)
