Today was a good teaching day.

During assembly, a teacher made Doctor Who references, which was awesome. Then, a Year 7 girl who's deaf played this incredibly beautiful guitar solo that she taught herself. It was one of those "omg this is awesome" moments.

The non-awesome part was not getting home until 8:20pm because I was at the office late again. And I still have piles of correction to do. :(

Reading Chapter 47 of TBSOL made my day awesome again, however. As did Felicia Day's 'Do You Want To Date My Avatar?' video.

I'm obviously in a musical mood today.

So I went on YouTube trying to find a music video of Missy Higgins' "Sound of White", and imagine my surprise when I found a Xena music video done to it! It wasn't that great though, so I won't link it here. But then I followed the link to another Xena music vid done to Missy Higgins' "Steer", which also wasn't that great... but that in turn led me to this:

An excellently done Xena music video done to Madonna - Die Another Day. Highly recommended viewing.

Also, another completely random thing unrelated to Xena or Missy Higgins: Bebe - Malo Malo. Women singing angrily in Spanish is such hawtness. Thanks to Lyan for the link. :-)

And now, it's time to play WoW.

It's been entirely too long since I updated my LJ. Part of the reason was that my paid account ended and I couldn't bear posting with only 6 icons. The other reason was that I was too busy playing World of Warcraft. More so the latter, methinks. :p

Anyway, I've stopped playing WoW for the moment because I got bored, and I renewed my LJ paid account about an hour ago, so it's time to update.

And what better to update about than my latest World of Warcraft happenings?

This is the new guild tabard that our Great and Honored Leader redesigned. It like how it matches my armor.

New guild tabard

The rest under the cut )

In other news, I had a sudden flash of inspiration to make another Alias music video. This time to "Undercover Girl" by Vanilla Ninja.  Cheesy Europop is the best kind of music to make music videos to, don't you agree?  ;-)

Now, I'd better go work on my Computer Mediated Communications essay that's due tomorrow.  >.<

I have repressed my Zombie-ph3@r long enough to post this very amusing Resident Evil 3 trailer (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] therussianbride for the link):

Dude, I could totally use this as a cure. Repeatedly play Xena music while watching zombies... make it so that I have positive associations with zombies.

Then again... that could just make me mortally afraid of the Xena theme. O.O

Okay, bad idea.

My Language and Culture tutor looks EXACTLY like House. It's kind of freaky. I'd love to take a picture of him and post it here to show people exactly how freakishly alike they look. Unfortunately he talks in a monotone that makes me want to zone out. I would have preferred having Celeste, the hot young female Spanish tutor. *le sigh*

I totally put my foot in my mouth today with Jennifer. We were coming out of the Syntax lecture and she was about to head off to Morphology and she said something like "I hope they have the air conditioning switched *mumblesomething* there." And me, thinking she'd said "on", because it was fairly warm today, asked "you're hot?" She didn't quite catch me and said "huh?", so I (dorkily) repeated, "...you're hot?", and she was like "uh..." , and by this time I was like "stupidstupidstupidstupid". And then I realised she'd said "switched off" rather than "switched on", and I was like "ooh, you're cold!" and then rambled about the weather for a bit. Heh. I'm such a dork.

Anyways.

WoW is offline for maintenance. *kicks at the dirt* I hate Tuesdays.

Random things happening:
- Dad has gone to China for two weeks.
- Rianna's learning the flute now.
- Stormy is puffy and cute looking as ever.
- Youth Allowance + Scholarship is awesome. Yay for free moneys.
- WoW is actually good for my wallet because now I don't wanna play the other games that I was going to buy, such as Civilization 4, Guitar Hero, Civcity: Rome etc.
- I watched Been There Done That today for like the sixth bazillion time and I still love it to death. Xena rocks. :-)

Any Xena fans on my flist should take a look at this very cute Xena music video: I Think She Likes Me

I'm bored, and I don't wanna do work...

lalala.

the end.

I have finished my Alias music video!

Get it here.

It's full of hidden subtexty Sachel moments (which I have, of course, found and exploited to their full potential), unrequited love, and Rachel Nichols looking like she's about to cry. *beams* All in all, I'd say it was a success. However, it's quite depressing, especially if you've already watched season 5 and know what actually happened. So, if you're looking for a little pick-me-up afterwards, I'd recommend my entirely non-tragic, totally happy D.E.B.S. music video over at Ralst's (it's at the bottom of page 1).

Aaaaahhhhh!

I am so obsessed with Sachel!

I went and read all the fics over at [livejournal.com profile] sydney_rachel.... all 10 of them, or so. And gah! People need to write more Sachel! I'm so fic deprived for this fandom that I'm even considering writing my own. >.O

I also acquired many Sachel icons and finally bought a paid LJ account so that I have somewhere to display all the prettiness.

Pretty icons.

Finally, I'm still working on my Alias (Sachel) music video. I converted all the damn .rmvb files into .wmv, and I've actually done about 1/5 of the music video. Yay!

And now I'm off to have pretty pretty Sachel dreams.

God, I love femslash.

After painstakingly combing through 15 episodes of Alias and planning out the entire music video, I opened VideoStudio 8 and realised with horror that it doesn't support the .rmvb file format. That is, the format that all my Alias episodes are in. O.O Once I calmed down, I started searching for ways to convert .rmvb to something else without having to pay money. The only free program I found that could do this wouldn't work.

This is turning into a very complicated matter involving headache inducing amounts of freeware, codecs and message boards.

Grrrr.

...

*gives up and wanders off to Emule to download WinAVI Video Converter with crack*

:D

[Edit: WinAVI turned out to be exactly what I needed. Unfortunately, converting each file is going to take almost an hour. Gah! >.o]

I recently discovered a new pairing: Sydney/Rachel in Alias. I wish there were an online equivalent of me jumping up and down while waving my arms and turning red in the face from excitement, because "OMG!" just doesn't convey the feeling properly.

OMG OMG OMG! x 10,000,000,000

There is SO MUCH SUBTEXT in season 5 Alias!

Oh most excellent, beautiful, glorious, life-affirming subtext! How I worship thee. How I thrive on thee. How I ADORE thee!

Subtext: Both Sydney and Tom walk past Rachel and her (evil) friend. Friend is slightly besotted with Tom, whereas Rachel turns her head to keep looking at Sydney. Friend coyly asks "...but then he's not really your type is he?". Rachel turns head from where she was staring after Sydney and says "No". Then friend says, "That's what I like about our friendship. There's no competition." (!)

Subtext: Sydney looks at Rachel and says "I believe in you." Then, as Rachel leaves for her mission, she turns her head to look at Sydney like she's checking her out.

Subtext: Sydney's call sign is Phoenix. We find out that Rachel's old agency call sign is Mockingbird. They're both birds! (badoom chish) Surely this is a sign. I mean, obviously, they're just meant to be together! o.o

Subtext: Sydney and Rachel are on a plane sitting next to each other. Sydney is asleep. Rachel looks over at Sydney. Sydney opens her eyes and smiles at her.

Subtext: Much of Episode 4 involves Sydney and Rachel stuck in a small, dark space (a car) together.

Subtext: Episode 5 starts off with Sydney doing exercises in her living room on a rug. A rumpled looking Rachel walks out of what is possibly the bedroom clad only in PJs and helps pregnant-Sydney up off the floor. They look rather intimate. Sydney tells Rachel she can stay at her place for as long as she wants. They also have a cute little chat on the sofa and Sydney says "We're both going though transitions. We...we might as well keep each other company." Interestingly, the episode is titled "Out of the Box" Perhaps a better title for it would have been "Out of the Closet".

Subtext: Sydney vehemently opposes sending Rachel on her first ever mission solo. Obviously it's because she's terrified that something will happen to her. "She's not ready! At least delay the mission a few weeks - just give her time to train!" she pleads with Jack. Jack says "this is no different than when you were sent back to SD6", and Sydney replies "this is completely different! ... I had Vaughn" (Vaughn being Sydney's main love interest throughout the series). Jack, without missing a beat, states matter-of-factly: "And Rachel will have you."

Subtext: Sydney gives Rachel a pep talk before her first solo mission. After a short moment of silence, Rachel looks up into Sydney's eyes and says "It helps a lot... having you." Sydney grins and looks down. (Awww!)

Unfortunately, after episode 7, the subtext got dramatically reduced and they started pursuing a stupid, stupid, STUPID chemistry-lacking relationship between Rachel and Tom (WHO ISN'T HER TYPE!). And then Vaughn (Sydney's fiancee and father of her child) came back. And then the show ended.

Damnit.

Finish D.E.B.S. music video (priceless)

That's right. Your eyes do not deceive you. I've finally finished my D.E.B.S. music video! It's done to "Surrendering" by Alanis Morrisette, which was suggested by [livejournal.com profile] warrior_cat (perfect song for it - thanks Ephie!). The first 4 minutes of it only took me 2 weeks, but then I got little distracted, and the last 36 seconds took more than 2 months. Oops.

But here it is! 17 mb of mushy, debsy goodness. Hopefully it's not too big for my dial up friends. Tell me what you think of it. It's my first music vid ever, so please be gentle. :-)

In other news, uni starts again on Monday. I went to one of the orientation days and joined MUKC. All of the martial arts clubs looked excellent... I wish I could do them all! To hell with my Arts degree - I want a degree in /Martial/ Arts! I reallyreallyreally wanted to do Kendo (samurai swords!)... and Wushu looked really good too (floppy, shiny swords! and omg one of the girls demonstrating Wushu was so hot and looked very dykey!) but Karate won out in the end. Unfortunately, the free training session yesterday has resulted in me being unable to use my arms today. Too many push ups. Very ow. But yay! Karate!!

Anyway. Now that I've crossed everything out on my list, I can make a new one. *grin*
